EDTA (Testrasodium Etidronate) Information
The best soap bar is now even better.
We have recently started manufacturing all of our Australian Botanical soap bars from a Natural Soap Base that contains no EDTA or HEDP.
We have replaced the EDTA normally found in soap bars and most personal care products with a natural preservative.
We have also added Organic Shea Butter to our ingredients, Shea Butter has high concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins making it an ideal ingredient for softening skin.
Australian Botanical Soap bars are made using the highest quality raw materials and manufacturing processes available in the world today.
We believe that the ingredients you use on your body are as important as the ingredients you place into your body.
Our soap bars don’t contain Parabens, Phthalates, (SLS) Sodium Lauryl Sulphates, (PEGs) Propylene Glycol or Petro Chemicals.
We can now add No EDTA and No HEDP to the list.
Our soap bars are not tested on animals, and we have always been dedicated to using only sustainable plant oils in the manufacture of our soap base.
What is EDTA and why has it been removed?
Tetrasodium EDTA is a powerful antioxidant used as preservative in industrially manufactured soap bars to maintain the appearance and colour of the soap bar.
Recently there has been global pressure on the health risks of EDTA exposure and concerns regarding water contamination (Californian Clean Water Act). Additional bans from all personal care products from global retail chains in the United States (Wholefoods) and many Health Stores in the USA and Europe have prompted Australian Botanical to source a more Natural and Environmental alternative to the current soap base.
At Australian Botanical Soap it is our goal to deliver botanically derived products that offer innovation, high performance and exceptional value, whilst also being environmentally aware.
